Brian N Gonsalves
Brian joined Telecom in November 2013 andbrings with him significant leadership and organizational experiences which compliment Telecom’s highly competent technical staff. Responsibilities include day to day management of all operations, and in conjunction with the Group Executive, will develop the strategic direction for Telecom.
Born in Bermuda, Brian was educated at Mount Saint Agnes Academy then later St Leo College in Florida where he earned a Bachelors of Business Management. While at St Leo, he joined the Army ROTC program and later attended the US Army’s Airborne School where he earned the Parachutist Badge. Upon his return to Bermuda he worked with D&J Excavating, Alexander & Alexander, Bank of Butterfield and AON.
In tandem with his civilian jobs, Brian spent over 25 years in the Bermuda Regiment, nearly 10 as a full time soldier. Brian has served in many leadership and diverse roles some of the more notable jobs include 2 years as the Governor’s Aide-de-Camp then later was the first Bermuda Regiment soldier to serve a 6 month tour of duty in Sierra Leone.
In 2006, Brian was appointed Training Officer (a full time post) and served for 3 years. This high intense role is an integral part of the Regiment and provided an opportunity to shape the Regiment into a professional military unit. Equally it offered the opportunity to work closely with many agencies both government and civilian. In 2009, Brian was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and appointed to the role of Commanding Officer where he served until retirement in June 2013. During his tenure Brian lead his senior team in modernizing the Regiment in all aspects from administration, logistics and training, despite a reducing year over year budget.
Brian is married to Judy and they have two sons: Jason and Bryce. For recreation he enjoys boating, physical fitness, travelling, working around the house and family time.
Anne Marie Porteous
Anne-Marie has been part of the Telecom team for 20 years. Born in Bermuda and educated at Mount Saint Agnes Academy and Bermuda College, she initially trained as a Blacksmith but soon decided to transfer into the world of Telecommunications
Anne-Marie was on the Customer Sales team when Telecommunications (Bda & West Indies) Limited launched the first GSM cellular system in Bermuda which is now owned and operated by Digicel Bermuda.
Anne-Marie has been the Service Manager for 7 years and is responsible for Front Desk Reception, Switchboard, Sales of Radios, GPS & Paging, booking in equipment for service and in some instances assisting with repairs and programming of equipment.
Avid interests include cooking, baking for friends and family, horses, reading and meeting new people.
Brent who is originally from the West Coast of Canada, brings a diverse set of skills and experience to Telecom. During the last 9 years at Telecom he has re-engineered and upgraded our infrastructure up to industry standards. Brent has an associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering and several years of manufacturer certified training. His previous experiences include working as a civilian for the Canadian Department of National Defense, maintaining naval communication and surveillance electronics. Brent is now focusing on building our next-generation, Public Safety and Commercial trunked radio networks.
In his free time he enjoys travelling, boating and spending time with his family.
Craig has been part of the East End Telecom team for two years but has over 20years experience in the communications and electronics field. Craig’s role with Telecom is to upgrade, install and maintain the Two Way Radio, GPS Asset Tracking and Paging Infrastructure as well as customer equipment.
Educated in the UK, Craig graduated from Brunel University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Prior to working for Telecom Craig has taught College Level Electronics Programs and worked in the Marine Electronics field selling, installing, maintaining and repairing all marine electronics and communications systems. When he is not working at Telecom, you will most likely find Craig in, on or under the water. Having sailed for 30years he has worked on yachts and competed in numerous national and international sailing events on both sides of the Atlantic. Craig has also taken part in several Newport and Marion to Bermuda Races. Craig is also a certified scuba diving instructor with over 1000 dives under his weight belt.
Henry Rabson Takaendesa
Henry Rabson Takaendesa, joined East End Telecom in the summer of 2007 bringing 19 years of experience in the Telecommunications Industry.
Henry has extensive experience in repairing, installations and maintenance of all brands of two-way radio equipment such as Motorola, Hytera,Tait, Icom, Simoco, Kenwood equipment etc. Henry has a good understanding of Microwave based radio and antennae systems, GPS tracking systems, among other various Communication Systems equipment. Henry’s experience includes installations and maintenance of electronic surveillance and security systems (CCTV), both Industrial and Domestic. Whilst at Telecom, Henry has added to portfolio of experience, Motorola Smart-Net and Smart-Zone Networks installation and he is responsible for the maintenance and servicing of the Bermuda Police Service Breathalyzer.
